Payments Policy

Safe, Simple, and Secure. for Buyers and Sellers in Kenya

We’ve built our payment system to make every pet purchase secure, transparent, and fair for both buyers and vendors.
When you buy or sell through our marketplace, your money is protected in escrow until you confirm that your new pet has arrived safe and healthy.

 

How Payments Work

  1. Buyer Pays Securely
    You can pay through the platform using M-Pesa, debit/credit card, or mobile wallet.
    All payments are encrypted and processed by trusted Kenyan payment providers.
  2. Funds Held in Escrow
    Once payment is made, your money is held in a secure wallet managed by the platform , not sent directly to the seller.
  3. Pet Delivery & Confirmation
    After the pet is delivered or collected, you’ll have 48–72 hours to confirm that everything matches the listing and the pet is healthy.
  4. Payment Release
    When you confirm delivery (or after 72 hours without a dispute), the platform automatically releases payment to the seller.
    A 10% service commission is retained by the platform for operations and buyer protection coverage.

Our Buyer Protection Promise

We’re committed to making sure you get the pet you paid for — healthy, as described, and on time.
If something doesn’t go as planned, our Buyer Protection Policy has you covered.

You’re protected if:

  • The pet is not as described (wrong breed, age, or gender).
  • The pet arrives ill or unfit for handover (with vet proof).
  • The seller fails to deliver or refuses to release the pet after payment.

In these cases, we will:

  • Issue a full refund if the sale cannot be completed or the pet was misrepresented.
  • Offer a partial refund if there’s a minor issue but you choose to keep the pet.
  • Step in to mediate directly between buyer and vendor.

Raising a Dispute

If there’s any issue, simply:

  1. Report it within 48 hours of pickup or delivery.
  2. Provide a vet report or clear photos if it’s health-related.
  3. Our team will investigate and resolve within 7 business days.

After verification, we’ll either:

  • Approve a refund or replacement, or
  • Release funds to the vendor if the pet meets the guarantee conditions.

Your Responsibilities as a Buyer

  • Inspect your pet immediately on handover.
  • Keep your payment confirmation and vet certificate
  • Report any issues through your account dashboard — not via off-platform channels.
  • Continue proper care and vaccinations after adoption.

Seller Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate listing details — breed, age, gender, and health records must match the pet.
  • Upload valid vet certificates and vaccination records before listing.
  • Arrange timely handover or delivery as agreed with the buyer.
  • Maintain honest communication through the platform.

Unlike direct payments or social media sales, our system keeps both parties safe:

  • Buyers are protected from fraud or fake listings.
  • Sellers are guaranteed payment once delivery is confirmed.
  • The platform holds every transaction until both sides are satisfied.
